USA!
With USA joining the war is this going to help the Allies or hurt them? From what we learned in class it seems that the soilders are people from farms who shoot deer or ducks for fun, not trained army men who probably have no clue on how horrible the conditons are in the trenches. The USA army doesn't want to be lead by some other man from a diffrent country, so what happens if they are being led by some diffrent leader such as some one from the French? Is the French leader going to send all the USA soilders into no mans land to pourposly kill them? Or are the USA soilders rebel agaisnt a commander not from their own country?

I think you make a good point. Having a foreign leader command an army is risky business. The foreign general could use the Americans as distractions and send them into dangerous areas just so his own men can advance.
ReplyDeleteHaving the US with the allies can't really hurt them at all. There will be more troops, and higher moral from the fresh troops that have not been so worn down. If the French or the British become in charge of the US troops I think they would definitely get sent in first. The generals might also become involved in more battles with heavy losses with more troops to send.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you cooper. The Americans are not well trained at all and the army is depending on volunteers. You have good questions about what could and might happen if they are being led. Who knows, maybe the Americans don't want to be led by another countries general because they know that they will just be sent off to their death - he doesn't care for their lives.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you Ryan. You make a good point on difficult questions that could be asked with a different leader. The Americans may be used just as distractions and be killed because the foreign leader doesn't care about what they are doing.
