WWI

I find it strange how World War One started. There really wasn't a big spark that made it start. It was really a bunch of little things that "fed the fire" to get the war started. All the alliences that were made kind of gave hints that something was going to break out with the world. It was bound to happen if one country went to war with another then all the alliences with that country would have to come together to help that one country. Then the other side's alliences would come and help them. So then eventually everyone would get invovled and thats how it became a "World War"

    I agree with this, the war started by a lot of little things. Many countries threatened other by getting alliances. This caused some little outbreaks but this will eventually lead to a big outbreak and will start World War One.

    I agree. Half the countries that got involved in the war really had no reason for figting accept that they had an alliance with a country that got themselves into the war as well. It would be a bit more reasonable if the countries actually had a specific reason why they were fighting each other.

    People say that the assasination of Franz Ferdinand started the war, but I agree with you, lots of little things caused the eventual war. The alliance system did not help to avoid the war.
